The Fairphone 6 modular smartphone set to launch on June 25, 2025, featuring a 6.31-inch display, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, and a 4,415mAh battery emphasizing repairability with easily replaceable components and customizable backplates. It is priced at around €549 or $635 USD.
The Fairphone 6 is just about ready for launch, and a new leak is giving us plenty of insight into what to expect from the company’s next repairable smartphone.
Fairphone has opted to ditch the curved back panel for something a bit more modern, looking right in line with designs from nearly every other Android OEM these days.
What’s different? There are the two visible screws on the back panel itself, which — as you’d expect from Fairphone — allows for easy access to all sorts of user-replaceable components. The new design also allows for mixing and matching between all three back plates, making for a more customizable, two-tone look.
According to images shared by Roland Quandt through WinFuture, it reveals the Fairphone 6 in three colors, black, white, and green. While the colors appear to be familiar to the previous iteration, the design of the phone itself is notably different. Irrespective of the colors, there is some sort of neon-themed power button, which at first glance is similar to previous Pixel phones, like the Pixel 3.
The Fairphone’s repairability does come at the cost of water and dust resistance, because the Fairphone 6 is reportedly just IP55-certified. Optics on the handset should include a 50MP primary sensor, 13MP secondary sensor, and a 32MP selfie shooter. Lastly, the Fairphone 6 is supposedly having a Class “A” certification for both reparability and durability, according to EU standards.
